Null Island’s (Self-)Portraits Series is concerned with the psychology of the artist’s body and critically questions the possibilities and limitations of figuration and self-promotion. Stimulated by existential queries and investigations into what-ifs, the complex yet playful constant and manifold re-stagings of Null Island’s personas is characterised by allusion, where focal points are teasingly hidden, and different meanings are subtly implied.
